ohmic sensing issue

Update.....Torch wasn’t down far enough........

Here is my issue. I can touch the orange ohmic wire to my work piece and the light comes on. I took off the retaining cap, shield and nozzle from the torch (powermax 65) and plug the orange wire into the assembly and touched the work piece and the light comes on. As soon as I put the consumables back on the torch and connect the ohmic sensing wire, it does not detect the work piece and the light does not come on. Any thoughts?

torchmate growth series with accumove 2, hyperthermia powermax 65.

Also, I just pulled the torch off of the magnetic break away and touched the work piece and the ohmic sensing light lights up. When the torch is attached to the magnetic break away the ohmic sensing does not work.

Swap out your retaining cap. Also, validate that the OHMIC CLIP is touching the shield. hopefully, you are not using FINE CUT consumables, as the nozzle sticks out farther than the shield cap. Youll need to spin the shield cap out so it touches the material prior to the nozzle.
