VFC box

Has anyone had a vfc box "go Bad"? what kind of issues does it cause? is it known what causes it?

im having height sensing issues.

i cleaned all my surfaces including the torch tip.
i set all my parameters per material thickness.
its sensing when it touches the material.
its set to auto mode and sample voltage is on.
everything is grounded 6 ways to sunday.
its not height adjusting while cutting.
its not returning the z axis to its original position when it returns to program zero. (it just stays at the "pierce height")

Any ideas?

The ohmic circuit is only used to detect the material, once material is detected Ohmic is turned off. Once the torch pierces and begins to move Arc Voltage is what determines torch height. With AVHC in Auto mode, select Run Job when the torch strikes an arc press the Auto button to switch over to Manual mode. Look at your Arc Voltage display under Height Control Status it should be displaying voltage while it is cutting. If no voltage is displayed then it could be that the red and black wires from the VFC box need to be reversed.

Note: this little maneuver needs to be done each time you want to be in Manual mode and display Arc Voltage, if you start out in Manual when you run a job it will not display voltage, need to start out in Auto then switch over to Manual each time it pierces.
