Railroad crossing sign

Was that style sign made in the 50's ? I know its early Crossbuck design
Not sure. Customer wanted to mount something at the entry gate to his property and asked for an old railroad crossing sign. I found the font and thought I'd revert back to some mill scaled HR and just knock the edges off with a red Roloc scotchbrite. Should rust up nicely after spending a few months outside.

I would date it more around the late 1800's or the industrial revolution time period. I'm sure Mr Vanderbilt commissioned a local blacksmith to fire up his Torchmate and make one or two for his railroad business. :D
