First sign project

All about the finishing my man... The reflective behind the numbers is very smart.

Yes - quite a while. Originally planned to have sign perpendicular to the road so it could be seen from either side . . . so both sides are painted. That meant I could not lay it horizontal to paint either side unless I let one side dry for a week or more. Did not want to get into spray painting so did it all by hand. Small brushes and lots of touching up mistakes. Nice time waster.

As I told my friend/customer, this is what happens when an old guy has too many tools, too much time, and no supervision.

Using multiple layers of metal can increase the cost, but at least you can use spray paint instead of painting it all by hand! But it all depends on how much you want the part cost you in material and how heavy you want the finished product to be.

It still looks awesome! Did you forget to bridge the eights? Or was that intentional.

I did not charge for the sign, I just made it for a friend. Most work I do is usually given to someone in exchange for their donating to the Salvation Army. This part of my life is just a hobby. I don't need the money and the Salvation Army does.

I tried bridging the eights - many, many times. Just could not get it to work correctly and keep all the other portions of the sign intact. I will sit down, re-read the instructions, research it online, check this forum, & etc next time I have the problem.

Most people say it looks cool as it is so . . . it is a feature, not a problem (LOL).
