    Hi all,

I'm trying to replicate the sjoberg adjustable vise below. My plan is to use 16ga sheet metal and a handbrake to bend it and then weld a coupling nut to that. I'll use aluminum rectangular pieces and weld those to a copper face which would then butt against a piece of thick wood. I only know how to stick weld and would have to create a handbrake to do this. I'm wondering what advice you might have in this project.

I would use all steel. Buy angle iron instead of building a home made brake.
