Wine&Candle Holder_Mine.jpg Got an opportunity to put the laptop down, step away from the computer and get out in the shop to do a little creating. This is what I came up with. Base and upright are made from .250 HR 20" tall. Cage is 16ga. HR, 14" tall 8" dia. octagon with two panel hinged door. Finished with Steel FX patina.

The Mrs. grabbed this one and claimed it as soon as the clear had dried. Something tells me she'll want more...

This turned out great! I like the variety of thicknesses of material that you used in the design. What size of table did you cut this out on and how much material did you use?

While cut on 5x10 not a lot of material was consumed. 7 pcs. total, the cage is 14"x28.5" and each octagon is 8". The base is 9.75"x10" and the arm is 11.125"x20" both .250 material. The little leaf on top that the cage hangs from is about 4"x4".
 
i can see LOTS of applications for this project also different metals and finishing. Wow... great job. ooo... stained glass.
 
Thanks Larry I appreciate that! You know me well enough to know just how much I need it too. I feel very thankful for the awesome people I have come to know online throughout the plasma community. While many such as yourself are a world away I actually ran across an outstanding individual, now a very close friend who lives near to me and allows me to come out and fabricate when I can physically handle it.

I'd love to come visit "The Man Cave" and talk shop at Rustic Metal Art. Still waiting on that airline ticket...:)
 
again thanks, for that website awesome products , I have been using lacquer based translucent stained glass type paints, for my desired effects , ok for indoor stuff , not totally weatherproof though, i want my stuff to last.. never knew that patina stuff existed ( i don't get out much) I am getting a little ahead of myself here as I am still making room in the garage electrical and what knot, and am still cutting by hand torch. but that site takes metal to a whole new level. oh and by the way I have decided on the torch mate 4x4 growth series,, thanks to all joe
 
Most welcome bigjoe. As with all finishes and clears you've got to be careful outdoors, UV light will have a major effect.

Congratulations on your decision to go CNC with a Torchmate machine. A whole new world of possibilities awaits. I look forward to seeing your posts as you go.
 
thanks, looking forward to expand my hobby maybe into something profitable I have so many ideas I need to start writing them down, I am sure most of my posts will be HELP for a little while
 
Ben, that is really nice. I agree with Larry, you need to be in the shop more often. The inspiration you provide is top notch
