Single Line Fonts........?

is there a way to get single line fonts without downloading ANOTHER cad program?

i have v9 for design and v8 on the table. i havent figured out how to do single line font.

yes i watched the video, but im not buying another cad program just to copy fonts.

not having much luck on the topic online.

You can "create" single line fonts by using a tool in the TMCAD program. When you have your text selected and after you do the ARRANGE/TEXT TO GRAPHICS.



Once you press that it will create a single line of that selected object.



Then you would delete the outside and have a single line.



You can also "search" single line fonts in your browser and find a TON of free fonts available that you can load into TMCAD if you don't want to go through this process.

Ok good info again , how does one download into tmcad what are the steps ?is font detective used?

FILE/INSTALL/FONTS

So download the font. Then go into the TMCAD and then go to FILE/INSTALL/FONTS
Do a search and will install the font for you. Then in the FONT DETECTIVE it will show up in the list.

type your txt, (basic font)
convert to graphics,
centerline (option),
remove outer letter boardering,
select the centerline (itsself),
apply online tool path to the centerline,
remove the centerline.
now all you are left with is the cut path for the centerline.

now do i "group" the cut path with the work piece? or make a path? or how do i ensure it will cut it out as part of the design?

yes. i already have the online cut path applied to the font. is there another step i need to take to ensure it cuts the font out of the workpiece or just overlaying the objects and groupping them is enough?

Once you CREATE the tool path you would just LAYOUT/SEQUENCE/START SEQUENCE BY LIST and put the ONLINE path first and the rest of the design second. MACHINE/OUTPUT as normal. the ONLINE will cut first then the rest of the design.

ok im not having any luck. i have the centerline and all that good to go. but when i click my scissors only the image i want to cut shows up. (not my lettering) any ideas

So either you havent CREATED the ONLINE TOOL PATH or dont have the tool path selected prior to MACHINE/OUTPUT.

To verify this go to VIEW/SHOW TOOL PATHS ONLY.

This will show all TOOL PATHS that were created.
