Nic Ashby was able to swing by Lincoln Electric Cutting Systems in Reno, NV to pick up Rockstar Garage's new Torchmate 4800. He was able to get a quick training on the machine and get a tour of our facility as well. Check out his initial reaction to how simple the machine was to operate and use.
First time user. Just set up a 4800 table with an 80 amp. Might have jumped the gun in file placement, Not getting along with it right now. Went all in and got the plate marker with it. My confusion is converting PDF, DWG and DXF files to the CAD CAM and layered and sized then to the VMD.. oh yea back up to the tool pathing.. But in all seriousness I must say I have learned a lot in a couple of weeks and happy to be aboard. Q; My compressor is approx.. 10' from the machine with a regulator / sediment catcher at the tank, the shop is heated. can I get away with a good filter system just before the machine ? Or plan 2 get a Dryer for about 1500 ?
Dryer for sure but filters work good as long as you replace them on a regular basis. As far as files and the TMCAD check out the training we offer on torchmate.com
