Cad Cam LT V9 Software

Torchmate 2 Controller

We are having trouble creating tool paths properly. I am using autocad to draw setting male lines to a layer and setting female lines to a separate layer then saving as a dxf. I then import the dxf into the torchmate cad cam software. I then sequence by list using my layers I created in auto cad. I then create the male and female tool paths, assign plate thickness and add lead ins. After all this I export the file into my controller software and run the program.

When I run the program it cuts the female shape first (twice) then it cuts my lead in for the female toolpath. Then it cuts the male shape (twice) and goes back and cuts the lead in.

I do not have double cutting applied, the sequence list shows tool path layers and also shows polygon layers. Shouldn’t it only cut the tool path?

Thanks, any help would be appreciated

You will notice on the export screen there is a check box for Tool Paths Only, it does exactly what it implies exports only the tool path. You may also be dealing with open shapes, for example a box is made up of 4 lines if they are not one continuous line then you may have 4 pierce points to complete the box. Show fill is a good way to determine if a shape is open (not fully defined) when on if the line is dotted it is a broken line, you can also go to Edit > Select by Open Objects. To close a shape go to Arrange > Convert to Polyarc the back to Arrange > Connect Path and enter a tolerance of .1 or whatever the largest gap is.
