Not sure if someone has a better way of doing this, but here is something I have used with relatively good success. I cannot always get an entire sheet full before I have to make some cuts, so I end up coming back to material I have already cut some pieces on and I try and use as much of it as possible. This can be difficult if you have a bunch of odd shapes already cut out So what I started doing was this: I take a picture of the material on the table and measure one dimension from it (in this case it is the yellow line, 9 3/16"). I paste the photo in the CAD software and create a shape based on that same dimension. Then I scale the photo until the shape I created in the CAD matches the dimension I pulled from the metal. I add the pieces I need to cut moving/rotating as needed to fit them where I can (in this case it is the D and B letters). Then I set my start point (can be a little tricky), but then the cut should nest nicely!
