Issues with cad 9

I recently bought a new computer and decided to install cad 9 off of Torchmates web site. Install went fine, but now when I import an old file it says font not recognized and wants to know if I want to replace with a new font. Is there any way to import the old files with out having to rework them? Thanks for any help

The Font that the CDL file is trying to find is not installed on that new computer. The font can be installed into that new computer, and then the CAD software by going to File - Install - Fonts. At that point CDL will open fine. Or you have the option to replace the font at the time of opening the CDL file, but this will likely distort the shape of the letter to something other than designed.

You can also perform a Text to Graphics on the object on the other computer before saving it, that way it's just coming over as drawing data. You just lose the ability to modify the text after that point.

If the other computer is still running you can also copy your previous fonts folder from your C: drive/Torchmate Cad/Fonts onto a thumb drive the copy then paste all your fonts into the same directory on your new computer. You might have to chose the replace all option if your prompted. Then as Mike mentioned above select File/Install fonts, and search in that directory.

I keep getting a Language Deserialization error with Cad 9 software. Is it best to uninstall the software and reinstall it. If so what are the instructions to reinstall it?

Best method would be to remove it from the Programs and features under the control panel. Once uninstalled go to your Local disc C: drive and delete the Torchmate CAD folder. Run the Torchmate CAD installer again. When prompted plug in your Security Dongle, next, next full install. After the program is reinstalled you will want to go to Machine/Machining defaults and check to make sure your on the appropriate "Selected Driver" If your running Torchmate 3 or 4 software you will want to be on the Torch mate Dual Tool Driver. If your running Accumove you need to select Accumove Imperial then apply then close. Also to be on the safe side go to Options, Torchmate Setup, General Preferences, make sure that your units are set to inches, and your speed units set to in/min then select ok. Reinstall your fonts from their as well if you need to.
