Cut Stops

While I am cutting, My 4800 will stop in the middle of the cut. I will then have to knock slag or dross off of the shielding cup and restart the cut.

How can i fix this? it's annoying. Seems to happen way too often. I am following the settings from the book for my cuts but this is biggest problem I have.

What thickness/ipm/amperage are you cutting? I would recommend running a line speed test to verify the proper speed.

I was running 11 gauge on 10 gauge settings, 110 ipm and running like 120 volts with sample voltage on, with a 45 amp tip. The guy that trained me from coastal welding supply said the mill scale builds up and mixes with the dross and causes that. Seems to be a giant pain, happens quite frequently.

Run a line speed test. 11ga at 40-45 amp you should be around .06-08 on the cut height and be around 115-125 on IPM.
