This is a project that was for a 7th grade history class. The lesson was on mid-evil times. My Daughter asked if we could create her a shield. I took her to the local Metal supply and she described the project, asked the Salesperson all the specs on the difference between hot and cold rolled metal, she selected what she believed were the appropriate materials, 14g Hot Rolled for the Back, and 16g Cold Rolled for the face.
With the help of my good friend Dave A, who introduced me to Torchmate, she designed, bent, and even welded some of the parts. After assembly she decorated with ribbon, and paint.
Thanks to Dave. I look forward to developing my own skills so I can post some original projects
