Advice on how to finish stainless cylinder

Hi, and thanks for the great forum. I'm working a project for my departing troops and looking for some finish advice. I'm making 25mm aircraft case shot glasses and since there's lots of nasty stuff in the case after it's fired I am going to try and line it with a 304 stainless tube to make it safe. I tried for weeks to find a glass insert, but can't find anything the proper size. The inside diameter of the case is right at 1.25". My question is how to finish the top edge, is there a way to roll the stainless tube where is forms a nice rounded edge overtop the steel case. I have limited skills and appreciate your patience and advice. I was going to solder 304 stainless plate on the bottom of the tube to make a cylinder before inserting into the case. I attached a picture of the cut down case, maybe it will make more sense than my rambling. Thanks in advance.

Maybe you could roll 1/8" or 1/4" stainless round bar into a ring and weld to the top of the stainless cylinder. Make sure the top of the case is perfectly flat so the ring sets flush on it when you slide it in. It should overhang a little to cover the case edge. Then epoxy the cylinder inside the case. You could probably roll the rings by hand around a piece of 1.25" pipe with a little plastic mallet persuasion.

Just a thought.
