weird ohmic thing

so my ohmic has been down for about a week now. ive been waiting on getting a new VFC but in the mean time i switched the table to manual. this morning i turned on the machine and started to cut but i forgot to set the height. i noticed that the torch was still cutting and the ohmic was flashing like it was working and it was touching the material and raising up to cut. so after the cut i went down and touched the torch head to the material manually and the ohmic light didn't turn on. i tried to touch the ohmic cable to the ground and it wouldn't show. nothing that i did could make it come on but for some reason every time that hit run it works just fine now. im curious if anyone has had this happen. should i say no to getting the new VFC?

When you run a job it turns the ohmic circuit on and off. So to manually test for ohmic you have to first turn the relay on, this is located under Machine Settings (logon as Admin) then the Advanced Tab and you will see Relay Output press it to turn it On, then press Ok, here you can jog the torch down to the material to see if it detects ohmic. For the ohmic circuit to work it is looking for the VFC ground wire, meaning if you dont h ave continuity between the material and where the VFC box is grounded to then ohmic will not work.
