Have a 4800, flexcut 80. Having a problem with the torch firing for a fee seconds then shutting off. I've checked the psi, purged the air line to the flexcut, changes out consumables. Any advise on next step. It's frustrating and time consuming

It only means one thing for me, I know one of the consumables is wasted. It's either the nozzle or electrode.
And one thing I've noticed too is that the machine/torch is sensitive as to where im firing the initial pierce. Although I've changed all the consumables, it still won't "run" after firing if I target an empty space. Be sure to cover the target pierce area with a thin sheet of metal just to initiate the conductivity. Cover the target pierce area even if its just a very small hole.
Sometimes changing out consumables will correct it but other times it won't make a Difference. I will change out the consumables long before they look worn. Feel like we are wasting alot of consumables because of this issue.
Couple things will do this i have seen. The actual ground cable out of the plasma box wasn't seated. Also dirty ground clamp on part or rust materail. And setting pierce delay to slow will do it. I finger fubbed it one day and had a .01 delay it would light then just stop.
