i guess some things got deleted in the process of getting things working.
is anyone willing to share their file that is called "line speed test"?

is there a nice way to change the overall cut speeds? or do i just need to lay a new path on each line?

you can either use the slider or generate your own by bringing the .gm file into a text editor. Then after every F change that number and that will be the feed rate
