New to Torchmate

Hi Everyone,

Hopefully someone can help me, We are Nickerson High School, a small 4A in central Kansas. Our school recently bought a torchmate 4x4 Accumove 2 and having a little trouble. Until recently everything has been working perfectly.... or so I thought, The table has been "jamming" when it moves too fast in the Y axis. I contacted torchmate to get a guide on how to care for the machine and found out my rails are out of alignment. Working on getting that fixed now, the problem I am having is I wanted to cut smaller projects and put a fine tip on the torch head but for some reason my Ohmic cap isn't sensing with the fine tip. Can someone help out?

Make sure you are using the 220948 shield with the FineCUT setup. If you are just using the 220955 deflector then the ohmic will not detect.

I just went and checked my machine and have the correct Shield on the machine, I have also been able to eliminate the little Ohmic tab because it moves out when I install the shield, which in my mind tells me that it is at least making contact.

So when you have the shield installed is the nozzle hitting before the shield? Maybe spin the shield out about a 1/4 to 1/2 turn to verify that the shield is making contact prior to the nozzle. are you trying this during a dry run to verify it is working or just moving the head down to the material?

You can test the ohmic circuit by login Admin (password 1234) then clicking on Machine Setting then Advanced Tab, click on the button Relay Output Off to turn it on. Then you would be able to jog the torch down to contact the material or you could use a piece of wire to torch between the plate and the bottom of the shield cap or to the ohmic clip itself to see if it detects.
