Max Cutting for Table Width

I have a Torchmate Table X 6 x 14. I would like to know what is the maximum width I can cut. I have a circle I have to cut that is 76" in diameter. Is this possible to cut on my table in one piece? I know my table is setup for 6' x 14' sheets but is that the true cutting width? I know the overall width and length of the table is bigger that that. I know the gantry is a concern for height and width. My piece would be 76 1/2" square. has anyone ever cut anything larger than what their table size should be?

Have you checked what your physical limits are, by jogging the short axis from one limit to the other, that would determine your cutting area.

Hi. I would like to also know the maximum width I can cut for my table as well. Not trying to hijack this thread but it is related.

It's a Torchmate X. I can jog to the lines and such and it appears to be exactly 5 feet. I need to cut a 5 foot wide piece. So I asked support if there is a way to increase this and they said yes in the VMD software.

I was told to increase it by 5 inches. It did increase the size of the cutting area in the VMD software from what I can tell as the blue box looks wider now. I also went into the Torchmate Cad software and increased the cutting size under the Machine Settings. In increased the green box to show the cutting area. But when I did a test cut...I find I can make a 60 inch wide line in Torchmate Cad but then it is cut it turns out to be an 1/8th short.

In a nutshell...is it possible to increase the width by an inch or two to cut a piece of steel exactly 5 feet wide? The sheet is 5 and 1/4" so all I need is a bit more room.

Is this information in available in a .pdf somewhere?

Thanks,
Paul

The 5x10 gives you about 62ish" width of travel.

In the config we have the machines set to their size but have a few JIC.

Thank you. I have adjusted it now but I have weird things going on with VMD software. I just cut a sheet of steel that was populated with parts. The first sheet cut correctly but the second sheet cut the first two objects correctly then it moved one of the other objects on top of one of the previously cut ones. Just weird things going on.

Should I re-install the VMD software? I had to do a factory reset a couple of weeks ago due to unrelated problem. I did the standard setup in the settings selecting my Torchmate X.

There is also a problem with using the built in .gm files when you nest them in the VMD software. Support verified this to me. They nest properly the first time but then after the spacing does not work correctly vertically. Wonder if this is related. Just seems like the VMD software is acting up.

Thanks,
Paul

If parts are cutting on top of other parts it is not the software it is mechanical. You have a motor that stalled or slipped and lost position, check the gear box set screws as well as the pinion set screws. There are two set screws inside the gear box, need to pull off one of the plastic covers exposing the access hole on the side of the gear box, the two set screws inside are 180 degrees off.

Okay. Thanks for your help. When I was cutting the second sheet I did hear a noise when it would move to that part. I will check it out doing what you suggested.

Thanks again!
Paul
