I want to create a Pierce Point to locate a hole center for drilling. I know this will harden the material at this area but my holes I will be drill are larger diameters than the Pierce Point.
I am trying to do this as we have some holes that are close to material thickness and don't cut well.
I also want to try to reduce our maching cost by having a hole center located.
I do not use the CAD/CAM software for CAD. I use other CAD software to create DXFs to import.
My CAD software has a Point option I can use when creating my DXF.
I am going to run a test program with a part that I used this Point option.
When doing the Pierce Point is there any setting I need to use in the Creating Tool Path?
What Tool Path should I use on the Pierce?
Will this change with different material thickness?
Any help with this would be appreciated.
