Deleting toolpaths

i seem to have created a part after editing which has two tool paths , I select part and hit delete tool path , nothing happens , tried break path then select then delete tool path , still. Nothing Any thoughts.

Go to VIEW/SHOW TOOL PATHS ONLY. this will then only show the tool path. Select all (ctrl + A) and press delete.

If you pressed ARRANGE/MAKE PATH or BREAK PATH it would take the "tool path" classification off of the geometry and consider it a "drawing"

Correct because you deleted the tool path... so then go to VIEW/SHOW TOOL PATHS and your designs would be left over. So now you can generate the tool path over again.

Are you employed by Torchmate? If not they sure could use you, I like your teaching style a lot. I understood what you were saying about deleting tool paths. Been having problems with the deleting concept. You made it clear to me in one sentence. Thank you....

I have outputted my design the cut paths look to wide to me. And there seems to be no lead in on a couple of the cut outs. Can I send it to you to look at?

I'm going to try and send a bitmap, could only find the dxf that I saved on the desktop. I think am having the same problems as bigjoe with the design to cut. I'm confused again. Saved the one I send you to my jump drive in cadlink then tried opening up other files from my jump drive, all that will open is that last file I saved. Before I saved that one I couldn't open any of the SL files. Sure hope you can help me understand what is going on. I'm also not understanding SL files are they BAK files, which are back up files is that correct? So many questions about that too. When do I need to delete these back up files, from what I'm understanding you need to delete them to be able to free up space for this program to operate better is that correct? I've got a lot of designs made up with lots of detail to them sure hope I can get them to the cutting table.

The top pattern is the one that I had questions about the cut paths looking to wide and lead ins on the e being missing and there is 2 lead ins that I'm wondering about, should their be a lead in at the bottom between the 2 and the 0. Also the lead in between O and the W. The kerf just looks to wide to me. Is that what you call it or is it a cut path? Can't wait to hear from you, I'll keep trying until then, going to watch the tutorials again too. Hoping it will click. Got a lot of money invested in my table and can't wait until I can go fire it up and know that I know I can cut my designs out. You guys make it look so easy can't wait till I can do the same......

Ok so the tool path that is generated (male/female) gets a kerf compensation applied to it. This makes sure that your parts come out correct size. If you don't have enough area for a lead in to be entered then the software doesn't apply the lead in. If the kerf correction overlaps itself then a tool path is cut at that area.

The reason it is showing the think line is because you have VIEW/SHOW TOOL DIAMETER. This is giving you a visual of the tool path.

Here is a project that will go through step by step on what you are trying to do. Plus give you a little understanding on the sequence of processing files.

BAK files are the backup CDL files. The UNDO/REDO feature in the TMCAD saves this file as a backup while you are working on your project. This allows you to UNDO as many times as possible. The files that are created are very small. I would take thousands of DXF/CDL files to fill up a modern hard drive. So keeping the BAKs are not necessary or needed.
