Delay in cut

When I make a dxf using scan and trace method I get about a half an inch delay in the beginning of the cut every single cut line. This issue does not happen however when I create an image from scratch or use a clip art file.

Which software runs your machine? Generating any other file you dont have issues? Try making G-Code straight out of the CAD and see if you get the same result.

I believe it'storchmate 9 that is on the machine. It is a school machine and I'm
Off for holidays now so will have to double check when we go back. Upon more testing it is making a delay in cuts on everything. The first cut line is fine, then everyone after is delayed about an in. Do I need to look at the pierce delay settings? Thanks.

Yes the CAD doesn't control any delays. So everything would be on the driver software.

The time it takes for the plasma cutter to pressurize the machine torch and initiate an arc is longer on the first pierce than subsequent pierces, this would be the reason for the discrepancy. There is a way to avoid this by manually turning the plasma cutter on briefly by piercing a hole, do this by clicking on Aux then pressing the Plasma button to turn it on and press again to turn off after it pierces a hole, then you can Start your program using the appropriate delay. If you Start another program shortly after you would not have to manually trigger the plasma cutter, only if it sits for a specified period of time, how long that is is plasma manufacturer specific.

Newer plasma cutters have an Ok To Move signal, for use with height control so that you dont have to cycle the plasma cutter to get it to turn on and off faster.
