Cutting mirror brush finish stainless steel with plastic coating?

I am going to be Cutting mirror brush finish stainless steel with plastic coating I have heard I need to spray Nitrogen at the plasma torch head??

Has any one done this? and at what pressure, and does it make a clean unburnt finish.

Not sure exactly what you mean by "spray nitrogen at the plasma torch head"....unless you mean to use nitrogen instead of air as the cutting gas. Nitrogen will produce a little less oxidation, but usually more dross on thin stainless as compared to air. I suggest also that you peel the plastic masking back away fro the cut area by 1/2" or so. It will affect the cut quality and will make a sticky mess on the material.

If your machine/software has an etching solution you can run that to "score" the pvc film that comes from the mill. If not a simple solution we used to use is to score the pvc with a brass knife to allow the gases to escape instead of ballooning the film. Just cut a bunch of lines in the X and Y of the material.
