Cut Paths differ from one image to another?

I have a file that has 4 separate pieces to cut. On all but one of them the cut path is on the inside of the shapes within the piece. I have one piece where all the cut paths are on the outside of the shapes making the dimensions inaccurate. Things I've done to try and resolve:

• delete cut paths
• break path
• remake path
• create cut path (male)

... basically the same config as the other pieces. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

On the one object that you are having a problem with, break the path, select all the objects and see how many show that are selected in the upper left of the screen. You can also go to Edit > Select by Open Objects to see what it selects. If an object is selected it would indicate it is open and you will need to fix that before you Make Path and create Male Tool Path.

With the open object you can go to Arrange > Convert to Polyarc then Arrange > Connect Path and enter a tolerance of 0.1, break the path and check again for open objects.
