    Hello
I have a Torchmate 4400 that is making a growling noise when starting up the first time of the day. It sounds like a cooling fan going out. The sound stops and the controller seems normal after about 20 to 30 seconds. The sound returns the next day or later. Has anyone had a similar issue or replaced a fan in the Accumove controller. I contacted the tech department, they said blow it out with air. It sounds like there may be a little more to it. I would appreciate any advice. Thanks, Gary.

I am having the same issue. Did you get it resolved or have a replacement aftermarket part you found?

I still have the same noise at start up. Sounds normal after 30 seconds or so. Support was no help at all. If it gets worse I guess I'll try again.

I pulled my Fan out of the Accumove today to see if I can get one some where else and really could not find a perfect match other than size. So I did what they told you to blow it out and it felt like it did not do much and then I pulled the tape off the back that says what it is and a little metal plug came with it to expose the fan shaft and I put a small drop of TriFlow lube and now it is quiet again. I am not sure how long it will last but for now runs like it used to. Hope this helps and if I find a crossover fan I will let you know. I worry about the fan going out then me cooking the motherboard in the Accumove.

Thanks for the info. I guess I better get to work on mine. Did you need to remove the controller from the table or were you able to open it up in place?

I crawled under and did it in place. I removed the side plates and then it sagged then I had to remove the top screws. Then the red cover came off. Just be careful the switch has 2 small plugs that popped of but it was not a big deal to reattach when I put it back together. By the way I only pulled the sticker just far enough to expose the cap and shaft so it realigned real easy going back together. I did find almost a exact match now but it does not have the nice threads so I will wait for Torchmate to get back to me regarding a replacement or where I can get it since the ones I found are out of China.

No problem at all. They did call me back from Torchmate Lincoln and they have plenty of those fans in stock and the cost is $11.75 each if you need one. I was told they rarely go out but he mentioned there might be bad ones out there. I told him what I did and he said it will probably last for some time but if I need one they are in stock. I think next time I place the order for consumables I will add one of those fans.
