I have a torchmate 4x4 table with a tomahawk 1000 plasma cutter. Just recently my machine has started Just initiating the arc and timing out now without changing anything it is moving before it gets pierced. I tried to run manual with a pierce timer and auto and both settings give the same result.

Here is a sample of its last cut. I am cutting 1/4 thick mild steel with my 65 amp consumables.

Looks like you need to increase your pierce delay... of course different situation for the type of system you are running.

Is there a way to post video to here because the picture does no justice. when the machine head comes down it dips down touches moves up and moves on its way. The plasma will fire about half an inch away from where it should fire while the head is moving. My pierce delay is .4 right now on manual. Any other ideas?

If you go to Configuration-Programming-Mcode definitions, what is the plasma on delay set to?
