I am a school campus tech who is a former auto tech. I discovered my school has a 4x4 growth with AM2 sitting in the back of the shop as a shelf for 6+ years. It had the table set up, but never finished the wiring to bother making it actually function. Seeing as I happened to have just bought a TIG with the intent to make my own headers I couldn't resist. I have gone through it all from scratch to understand it, got it wired, went through idiocy with the Hypertherm, learned VMD, discovered the TM CAD dongle will never be found, then spent a week researching and trying software to end up at Freecad/Illustrator with Sheetcam. My last problem is... the ohmic cap . It will sometimes stop and pull back and other times keep going until breakaway. As in the light comes on, but it doesn't, or can't, stop in time. I don't see that the descent speed for detection is adjustable. My manual testing shows the ohmic to light up .025" (VMD readout) before the breakaway stops it. I would think that isn't enough of a gap, but I have nothing to go on. Any ideas?
Try going to this link. https://www.facebook.com/groups/128042524552012/ This link was shared with me here. I have been to this link and the people on there have all different types of tables used. Maybe someone there might have or had your style of table.
