I’ve been at this problem for months. When I go to open the icon I get to click the trial. The screen flash’s a window and goes away. It won’t open... I have a new installed windows 7 pro 64 bit. I have all the windows updates. I have my LAN IP set to 192.168.1.6 I have pinged 192.168.1.7 that’s receiving just fine. I have turned 3.5.net on in windows features. I have went through regedit and set .exe to exefile. Set exefile to “%1”%* and command to “%1”%* . I have added VMD to be allowed on firewall and also turned off public and home. All the windows programs open fine. Windows updates to 4.8.net framework. Any clue what still doesnt allow the VMD software to open? Before this windows install the computer had windows 10 installed it didn’t work. So I installed Windows 7 pro 64 bit. I downloaded the VMD driver from Torchmate’s website.
Likely you do not have all the Microsoft Visual C++ prerequisites for 2008 thru 2012 for both 32 and 64 bit, you can download these from Windows Update. No need to go through Regedit, not even sure what those features you mention even do. The VMD software basically needs C++ and .net framework 3.5 to open.
I tried another Window 7 64bit this time ultimate. I had to install visual c manually. Windows update didn’t install any visual C++. I installed 2008 for X64 and X86 then installed 2012 X64 and X86 also directX.. Rebooted as 2012 requested and tried VMD the screen flashed as usual. But the pointer icon started spinning. Boom it opened! Allowed access for firewall. And I’m in! ThX so much! I can’t believe I seem to have the only problem.
