We have some very good tutorials on our website torchmate.com/university. You are receiving that message because your Lead-in length is too large to place inside the object. When platemarking you want to do an online tool path.

Ho will the machine differentiate between plasma marking and cutting?

It doesnt, you would need to pause the program after it moved into position to begin plasma cutting, switch back to normal cutting and then resume the program.
