    Thanks guys! I used my torchmate 4x4. I saw a photo of a fire pit on the Interweb (plasma spider) and thought heck I can build that. Its about 42inchs at its widest point. The pit itself is 28 or 30inchs across. My only regret is that I didn't build it out of thicker steel. I used .125 which is still thicker then anything you can get from Walmart, Lowes, or Home Depot. If your interested I'll try to upload the file.
