Where can i find this exact part online? does anyone know the part number and specs ? I want to order a couple from online for spares
I am having the same problem, I have not gotten a reply from TM about getting this part. I am worried that it is not available.
This is the problem that I submitted to TM. I have a 4x4 Growth Series. My gantry is binding near the end of its travel on the y axis. I removed the screws holding the gantry to the backlash nuts and it rolls smoothly along the whole length of travel. I then reattached each side individually. The left side was able to drive the gantry without issue. The right side bound up 10" from the end. I then removed the gantry from the anti backlash assembly and held onto the aluminum mount while it ran and the binding happened in the same place. I do not see any burrs or deformation on the drive screw and the backlash nut runs smoothly everywhere else. It does not bind every time, sometimes it goes past that spot without issue. Any suggestions?
That is not the backlash nut that you are having issue with. On the GS machines they have cam followers that space the distance between the gantry and the ground rail. This needs to be a penny and a dime thickness between the bottom of the gantry and the ground rail. What is happening is that the gantry is pulling/pushing the lead screw causing a bind that the motor cannot push through. If you have the gantry in the correct position and still experiencing the same issue is to loosen the set screws on the motor couplers to the lead screw/motors. Sometimes the set screws might hit a ridge to twist the coupler/lead screw out of wack to cause the same thing.
It may not be the backlash nut but it is also not the gantry. As I said in my post, I separated the backlash nut mount from the gantry and held the aluminum bracket in my had while it moved down the screw and it jammed in the same place without the gantry attached. I will reset the set screws on the gears to see if that helps.
