My computer is getting glitchy and I want to switch to a new computer before it dies. I have all of my gm files backed up. Is there a way to switch to the new computer so that I retain the machine parameters that I have set in VMD. Is there a protocol available for this? I am trying to do this with as little down time as possible. Will it be necessary for me to contact Tech Support to have them do this for me? Thanks
The protocols are contained inside the Accumove controller itself, so it is no more difficult than installing the VMD software on the new computer, setting the IP address and allowing the VMD application through the firewall. Either that or you can disable the firewall if not on the internet when you go to Firewall with Advanced Settings.
I just upgraded to a new computer on my Torchmate 4800 The standard computer was a SHUTTLE NCO2U - a Celeron Processor with 125GB SDD and 4GB Memory I bought a Intel NUC with 256GB SDD, 32GB Memory and I7 processor with 4K display output https://www.intel.co.za/content/www/za/en/products/boards-kits/nuc/kits/nuc7i7bnh.html I also battled to get VMD moved but then purchased Paragon Hard Disk Manager version 16 and this has a easy to use Cloning procedure It took about two hours and all my data plus SW was transfered I did have to re-activate my Windows 10 - so be sure to write down your activation key before you start It is much faster and a pleasure to work with
