Anyone have any suggestions on why my breakaway is staying open? If I put just a little pressure on the torch it will close but as soon as I take the pressure off it opens. It will also connect but as soon as the gantry moves it will flicker between open and connected. I have a 4400 and running Accumove 2.

Any help is greatly appreciated and Merry Christmas!!

It would seem that the center magnet is protruding too far out of the black nylon bracket. To adjust the magnet, remove the 4 allen screws holding on the nylon bracket, on the back side of the magnet are 3 set screws that are standoffs for adjusting the magnet. Turn each screw out 1 turn, start with that, on the front side of the magnet is a single screw securing the magnet in place, gently snug this screw down being careful with the nylon threads. This should increase the distance between the magnet and the metal disk that the torch is attached to, the clearance should be around .010 inches.

    Thanks for the info.
Before I was able to check your post I noticed there was some corrosion on the contact points where the three ball bearings connect. I filed and cleaned the points and it seems to have fixed my problem. Will be sure to check the center magnet distance when we’re back at work. Thanks again!!
