Should the Accumove be turned off at the end of every day? I typically turn off monitor, Plasma cutter, compressor, and shut down the VMD. I leave the Accumove on because the last time I turned it off it took half a day for it to start working again. any thoughts?
To shut down the machine at night I of course, shut off air and plasma cutter, then datum the machine in the vmd point tab, the shut down software the controller
With the Accumove controller on the motors are energized the entire time, best case would be as Kchoghead put it shut everything down and if you have a table without limit switches first Point to Datum before turning off the controller and shutting down the computer. If you are on the East Coast some go as far as unplugging the computer equipment from the wall as well, at the very least you should have the computer and Accumove on a UPS battery backup.
Well i turned it off and as I was afraid of it literally took me an hour to get the machine running without binding up again. So then I started cutting a file and halfway thru it the torch lifted up and shut off and finished the part as if it was on dry run. I went back and started from zero cutting the file on dry run so I could change to active run where it stopped and finish the file. I turned to the monitor and it was black and wouldn't respond to touch or anything all the while the file kept running as dry run. The monitor started flickering a couple of weeks ago and now will not do anything. You can see some faint lines on the screen but nothing else. Unbelievable! I have only had it since march and have replaced Accumove and now I have to go find a monitor.
