I am resetting up a 3 year old 4x4 Growth Series table in an attempt to salvage the investment my company made and am wondering what to set the motors to in the driver software. The info of the motors is: PrimoPal Stepping Motors Model PHB57S112-40595-K3A4 1.8Deg 6.0A 0.5ohm The driver software, version 4.5.17, does not list these motors. What do I need to do to set these up? The manual provided no guidance I'll probably have more questions once running. My understanding is that it was essentially mothballed and replaced because they were never able to get the AVHC, blue screen, to work in auto mode; it would always crash the torch into the plate.
You dont need to do anything but select the appropriate setup file, go to File then New Setup and choose the appropriate setup file for your table, such as the 4x4. Height control works by reading the voltage from the plasma cutter, in order for this to work in Auto mode you need to select the appropriate Set Voltage for the torch to maintain its working distance. Quick and easy methode is run it in Manual mode and observe what the voltage is reading, this gives you a baseline reading when the torch is at the correct distance off the material. Adjust your Set Voltage to this value and switch over to Auto mode.
Thank you for the reply. Just wanted to make sure because the setup file defaulted to a 2.5A stepper that did not match the model of the 6A steppers on the machine.
Just ran the machine with only a minor issue but fixed it with a N.O. momentary switch. The torch was diving a lot during hole cutting. I hooked the switch to the corner terminals on the AVHC and held it closed for holes; worked great. I'll find a way to automate that next. Thanks for the quick method for getting the set voltage worked like a champ!
On the blue box blue screen go to the SETUP MENU. In the setup menu change the SET SENSING DELAY to about 1.2 - 1.4. This will "lockout" your lifter station after the pierce until that time delay is up. This should also help with your holes.
