below i have a dilemma. my 65a tips sit nice and close to the material to keep my kerf nice.
my 45a tips are recessed and end up giving me the same kerf as my 65a.
does anyone have the part number for the style cup i need for the 45a tips?

I think you may have the hand torch shield not the machine torch, that's why it is recessed.

oh ya sorry its a hypertherm 65. my cups are different sizes. the 45a is quite a bit shorter than the 65a. i need to know what shield i should be using for the 45a cup. all the shields i have are for 65+ and the guys at the welding supply shop dont have a clue how to help me.

You only have to google Hypertherm and look for the machine specs and it will show you what parts and part numbers you need :)

If your using the hand torch, the 45a and 65a shields are the same 220818. If your using the machine torch, the 220955 is for "unshielded cutting" and the 220817 is for "shielded cutting". So the 220955 would probably set flush to the nozzle and the 220817 would set away from the nozzle.

Here's the manual if you want more detail.
