Importing a dxf and welding

Whenever I import a dxf file into cadlite and try to do a basic weld to it I get an xor weld. I can't weld anything to it. Any ideas?

 

Be sure all your objects are on the same layer. Highlight everything then go to a bottom box with the layer colors and right click then left click the mouse. Try that.
