Proper grounding must be provided to ensure personnel safety and to suppress high frequency noise. The foundation of good grounding is an effective earth ground rod. A star ground point usually connects to the rod with a short, heavy conductor. Lines radiate out from this ground point to each component of the system, establishing a central grounding point. A simple copper clad steel rod can be driven into the ground to create a Grounding Rod; however, the rod must be driven into the ground deep enough such that it comes into contact with the water table to ensure a proper earth ground. Consult with a qualified electrical technician to verify your system grounding. Use 12 AWG Stranded Wire to connect the ground of each system component to the Star Ground on the table.
More important that adding it to the table, once added you will need to test the effectiveness of the Star Ground, if you have a water table you can place the Star Ground near the top of one of the legs or on the side of the leg using an existing bolt hole. Use a multimeter to check continuity, you want a reading of less than 30 ohms, place one of the leads on the material being cut, place the other lead on your Star Ground. If no continuity or high resistance, then you will need to add a jumper wire from the Star Ground to the slat material. Do the test again to ensure low resistance from material to Star Ground.

We recommend adding a ground rod to send any voltage or plasma interference to ground through the path of least resistance. When the ohmic wire comes in contact with the material through the shield cap, the software will see this as a closed circuit, (orange wire being positive and material being negative), for this ohmic circuit to work there needs to be a path back to the ground, by adding a ground you not only add protection to your electronic equipment but you also supply the least resistance to ground.
