Torchmate 4800, XY Axis, Positioning and Squaring Table

I just tightened the belt. But still the x-axis problem persists. Looks like the belt is busted, when I jog the head manually there is a bit of slippage. Will be replacing the belt soon.

Torchmate 4800, XY Axis, Positioning and Squaring Table

Im experiencing a lot of x-axis error so I disassembled the torch head. Found that the belt connected to the motor of x-axis is too loose - looks like it was a mechanical problem all along. Im planning to replace it instead of just adjusting the motor distance. Im still in the process of...

    Torch stops after pierce

It only means one thing for me, I know one of the consumables is wasted. It's either the nozzle or electrode. And one thing I've noticed too is that the machine/torch is sensitive as to where im firing the initial pierce. Although I've changed all the consumables, it still won't "run" after...

Torchmate 4800, XY Axis, Positioning and Squaring Table

Im experiencing this lately. My 4800 (with flexcut 125) will all of a sudden change the position (even the reference) of the cut! I mean it happens once every hundred parts but still. Its frustrating to start a part again and me throwing the material out. All of a sudden the z axis will have...

    3/8 cut quality

hey there! I cut 3/8 mild steel from time to time @45amps at 50ipm and 60psi. I have flexcut 125 by the way. There's also a 1.5 to 2mm kerf from the torch. And you have to watch out for the bevel. In my experience, holes may be perfect 50mm topside, but its only 48mm bottomside. I go for higher...

    best chemical for plasma table?

I can't get greencut in my place and washing soda is virtually impossible to find here. So I use sodium carbonate. I basically cook the (arm and hammer) baking soda til there's no more heat fountains and it has this sandy texture. I retain the PH level of water to 9+. Pretty cheap and effective.

    Ohmic sensing trouble shooting

Thanks for sharing. I was having trouble yesterday with my Flexcut 125. When I start the job, the z axis goes down a bit then gets the limit exceeded error even without touching the plate. Thanks for the explanation I now sort of figured out the reason for error. Its all because of the busted...

DCB Episode 2 - WELD TABLE

Hi chad, I was just wondering, there isnt any command in torchcad that specifically says "use plasma mark", is there? I mean I use plasma marking but i have to manually change it in the power supply, which means cutting gcode file is different from plasma mark gcode file. Can it be done in one...

    Cutting Thin Material

Hi, Im new here. Im cutting 1.0 mm - .08mm thk stainless steel and I cant seem to find a good AMP and speed combination. Im using flexcut 125 with 45A nozzle with my TM 4800. I first start out with the recommended setting in FC125. But its too much for 1.0mm SS. I'd like to know what your...
