Big thank you to everyone on this site for the help with my past problems! I have a 4400 and it ran multiple parts just fine all day then it started nosediving into the material. I checked this site and found another user with that problem and the suggestion was to reset the torch height. I did this but every time I datum or reset the Z axis the torch goes to the bottom of its travel and will not stop. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Hitting Reset Z and the torch drops indicates a broken wire in the switch assembly for the Z axis. Look on the right side of the breakaway, where the two white square molex connectors plug into each other (red and black wires), look for a broken wire. If not there then remove the black nylon mounting block on the breakaway, behind it is a cover with two Phillips screws, check for a break in the wires there as well.
i have a Torchmate x 5x10 and will not Datum it happened one time about 3 days ago. i let it sit for a few hours and it started working again, and been working ever since. now it has stopped working again. any suggestions of possiblle solutions would be greatly appreciated.
