I am trying to cut holes in a piece of 7x9.8 channel with the legs down on the plasma table. The legs are 2 inches tall and the web is 1/4" thick. I set the material thickness to mild steel 1/4" and the retract and transfer height to 2 1/4" This works, but the torch hits the steel pretty hard when it is coming down to sense the steel. Is there a way to set the machine so that it will recognize the material is taller so that it doesn't crash into the top? I have adjusted the "material height" setting on the plate setup, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.
    Thanks,
    Andrew
