My machine has been running without issue for quite a while now.. But today the temps dropped to about 25-30ish degrees. (My shop isn't heated at This point) When I went out to fire everything up it wouldn't connect for anything.. I checked my cords, and firewall settings with no luck.. The fan was slow to take off for a second or two and then took off when I turned the Accumove 2 on. Is there a temp limit and did I do any damage by starting it that cold? I turned it off and back on and seem to run fine after.. Just not connecting.. Thanks in advance for any input..

Connecting in itself is just a pain. If shutting down the accumove for 15 seconds and turning it back on does nothing. Wait until computer network connection is good then use the datum button in the program.

Darren, I hope you have found the issue with your Accumove 2 . Im having the same issue with mine because our school had changed it wifi setup. Even though we use the wifi internet, I was told by our tech that our Ethernet cable must be attach to the modem, connecting to the accumove. There is still no response from the two (Accumove and modem) and I'm waiting for a response from the tech.

    Manuel,

I have never tried a connection using a router but I really don’t see any issues in doing so.

To be clear a modem is something that actually connects to the internet, whereas a router distributes that connection to multiple devices. This can be wired or wireless. Modems and routers can also be a single device.

The router would need to use 192.168.1.1 for LAN.

The Accumove would need to be plugged in directly to the router and assigned a static IP address of 192.168.1.7.

The computer would require a static IP address of 192.168.1.6.

The Accumove NEEDS 192.168.1.6 as a IP address for the HOST computer for it to operate.

There is NO REASON for the computer running the machine to have WiFi as this is usually the issue with connection and the AM.

If you are planning on using WiFi then I would running it on a 10.10 network or something else as 192.168 network is what the AM is looking for.
