I have been getting a recurring glitch. If I get a breakaway stop or ohmic detection error stop, I will clear the issue, and do a run from here command wherever the plot stopped. The torch head will go to the correct place and start properly but only cut an irregular circle, and then move to the next correct start point and cut another irregular shape and continue on to the next start point.
Yeah it cuts a real jagged circle. What I do is go back to zero and run the part on dry run right up to within a 1/2 " of where it stopped before. Hit stop and turn the dry run off and cut from there. Its a pain if its at the end of a real big part though.
This happens every time there is a tip up or splatter on the tip. Shouldn't happen and the software should get fixed Thanks for the reply this is what I do too and was hoping for a better response from Torchmate
If we get a breakaway or ohmic error the machine will stop straight away. We then clear the tip or whatever is in the way jog the torch back up to a workable height and hit the reset z-axsis and then start the job again. Works fine
Jake, I am only successful doing that ~30% of the time, the rest I get the glitch. Either it won't restart or if we do run from here we get an irregular start hole and no object cutting I cannot perceive any variable that I am missing. I have a 4x4 Growth
I'd be interesting in knowing the version you are running and maybe some screen shots. so go to LOG ON (ADMIN 1234) and then go to MACHINE SETTINGS. Press VERSION info. Does the RUN screen show the odd shapes?
So to get the VERSION INFO I'm requesting Press LOG ON (upper right corner) SELECT ADMIN (password 1234) Select MACHINE SETTINGS (upper left corner) Then press VERSION INFO (lower right corner) 4.0.42 is what shows on the top of the VMD screen and gives me no information besides you are using VMD. Also... Send me a photo/video/screenshot of the issues you are having or you can send the file(s) you are having issues with over to support@torchmate.com and we can test it here. In the 2+ years the VMD/Accumove has been out, we have not had the "issue" you are explaining with RUN FROM HERE. This might be just as simple as a reload or upgrading if you are using a older version of the software but we will not know until we have the details.
I will get you the version info tomorrow when I am back at the machine. I just sent Dennie a video of the situation while it is happening. If I am not mistaken, Buzz at the top of this thread is reporting that he has the same problem, so that makes two of us who are experiencing the same glitch.
Well if he is running a 4400 and you are on a growth series then two different versions of the software. So could be a file issue at that point but I'm just speculating. Ill look at the video that you sent to dennie and will collaborate once I get the version information and the file you are having issues with. .cdl and .gm would be nice.
Thanks I gave Dennie the gm file though I have this problem across multiple files. Also, FYI I bought this table last year and it came with a laptop preloaded. It has since been cleared and reinstalled
Any thoughts, this is a recurring problem and affects my ability to do complex cuts without having to through away a sheet of steel.
I have not received a response. I tried it with another computer and get the same error. This implies it is the accumove 2 box since it is the only common variable. I would really appreciate hearing back from TM
