I have the 4x4 growth table and looking to add a 4th axis (rotary indexer) to use with my router but when i try to setup the A axis it tells me i have the lite version and it only supports X,Y,Z ??? any ideas ?
The "4th" axis on the machine is turned on/off through CONFIGURATION/SYSTEM/MOTOR SIGNALS. The rotary would take the X and not the A.
I'm kinda not following you. I spoke with flashcut and they sold me a 5th drive card that the Rotary indexer would plug into. i installed the card and did what you said above and selected A on number 5. But under CONFIG/MACHINE/BASIC DEFINITIONS when I try to enable the A axis it tells me i can only run X,Y,Z because i have the "lite version"
Weird FlashCUT didnt sell you the software too... Your box should already have an empty 4th axis card. Motor would just plug into that. The way we set up the ROTARY axis is through CONFIGURATION/SYSTEM/MOTOR SIGNALS and assigning the 4th axis as X/Y (which ever is your single axis) and run it that way as the CAD software only generates X/Y coordinates. This is the way all of our side mount tube cutters worked on the older system.
Chad. Im using Fusion360 with a modified Fanuc post processor to include 4th axis moves on my router table for aluminum and woodworking. I did speak to Flashcut CNC yesterday and they said I would need to pay them 195.00 to enable the 5th drive card and A axis in the software. Seems that torchmate send the "lite" version of the software and it only includes X,Y,Z axis moves. Do you guys offer the full licensed version of the software or have a license key you can send me LOL. im just a hobby guy with a machine
Ahhhh... now I understand. Sure contact the parts department and they can send you a quote. 8665711066 ext 3.
