So now the new issue is right at the start. After datum runs down the Y axis and hits limit switch, it does the programmed offset, but then slowly backs away endlessly which is only stopped by me manually (Doesn't find back limit). Configuration has been reset, module and computer restarted multiple times. Drive motors all unplugged while Accumove 3 is powered off. All limit switch jam nuts checked for secure fastening. Gear/tooth mesh checked and motor bolts checked also. Any help greatly appreciated........ I am on my second Accumove 3 system module box btw. (Less then 100hrs on table) Taylor
You are not alone . I have had my 4x4 for two years and I don't think I have even put 100 hours on it. I have worked on for that much. Torchmate needs to address the issues with there systems. I had a sales man call me trying to sell me the new 4800. I'm sorry I spent $13,000 I'm sure hell not going to spend over $20,000.
I have had a similar issue in the past. My Z axis was out of sinc with where the table thought it was. Have you tried to disconnect the ohmic wire from the tip put a jumper wire on it so you can reach your plate, I start a file in dry run and as the torch comes down to start touch off, ground the ohmic wire to the plate before the tip touches. It should stop going down and if you continue to hold the wire on the plate it will start to rise. remove the jumper from the plate and at this point you should get a z position error showing the z coordinates. Compare those with the ones to the right under machine position and program position and they should all be the same. If not it will do what you describe. Hope this helps. Bob
I spent $46,000 on my table as I got the super deluxe Torchmate X 5x10 and the optional tubing cutter on the side (During the short time they had that). The japanese have been building super reliable laser's since the mid 90's, that being during the old anilam days. Why in 2016 did I get a gantry system that is so non-operational?! It amazes me how junky this thing feels. Sometimes I think my loyalty to Bill should have stopped when he sold to Lincoln. It's way before that, like when the gantry trie's too square itself on that limit switch it never finds it.. Thank you for the reply though
I did get immediate response once i posted on here about mine. Since then I have been on the phone and email with an engineer and he got on my machine remotely too. I do appreciate the much needed help from them and as of right now it works fine. I will knock on wood though because it worked fine for a while after I squared it again. I agree 100% that there is a software, accumove or related chronic issue there. I really don't think the rest of the table has problems. My machine has an issue where it loses its Y axis location in the middle of a file and starts cutting 2"-20" off from the original file and is that far off when it is Datumed again. As I told my wife its like your driving 60 mph and fall asleep for 5 seconds and wake up in the other lane. That's what mine has been doing off and on since I bought it 3 months ago. Once again I do appreciate the help they have been giving me on getting this fixed.
Limit switches are very easy to diagnose, just an open close contact. If the gantry is slowly retracting then it is doing that to get off the switch, meaning the switch is still activated. Make sure the switches are not riding on the guide rails, should have 1/16" clearance, so the limit switch is only activated by the actuator at end of its travel. You can also verify you have the limit switches plugged in correctly, Logon as Admin (password 1234) click on Machine Settings then the Inputs Tab. On the left side of the screen is the description for the limit switches on the right is the LED indicators, activate the switch and you see what LED indicator triggers and compare this with what it is assigned to.
